I nearly threw up!!!

I think I am becoming addicted to car boot sales!! I am so please with the things I managed to pick up today BUT I did nearly throw up when I opened the bag of lace bits (£2). The SMELL, stale cigarette smoke with a waft of dirty dogs and old ladies knickers!!! Hence I washed it straight away see photo below.

Altered Art Chocolate box

This started life as a chocolate box. The flower is a gathered ribbon and the tile is one I had left over from making the bird house.

This matches the altered cardboard thing I made the other day. The little tiles are mosaic tiles I had left over from another project.

This started as a piece of cardboard from the recycling bin- to be exact an Amazon box. I was just playing not really sure what I was doing or what I was making. I stamped, inked, embossed and I ended up with this.

Printing blocks

These are one of the things I got from the car boot sale the other day. They can not be used as conventional stamps but if you ink them up and rubber brayer over them the images come out ok. Not bad for £4

Altered Canvas Art

This is a small 9" x7" canvas that I bought from the pound shop.

a) I painted a base coat of white gesso down first and whilst it was still wet added a small ammount of Earthtones Adirondak acrylic paint. I did not brush it on I stippled it to create a slightly raised texture.

b)Whilst the paint was still wet I sprayed some Coffee shop glimmer mists all over and again stippled the surface.

c)I tore some pages from an old book and adhered them to the canvas, painted a bit of white gesso over the top and then stamped some flower images over the whole thing( I sprayed my stamp with the glimmer mists and mixed a bit of the white gesso with it.

d)The photos were printed off and the edges sanded and the stuck onto the canvas

e) The chipboard shape was covered and a small amount of Heirloom Gold Perfect Pears by Ranger was added.

f) Th back of the bird brooch was removed and the bird stuck down and the the Cluster Faisceaux (crystal stickers) by Mark Richards were added.

Why is it?

Firstly once again I have not managed to take any photos, not because of the lack of light tent- I got that back! Thanks!!! But my camera ran out of charge so I am afraid that it is going to have to be tomorrow.

I have created another altered canvas. I love the idea of altering items to make something completely different to the original. However from reading and trawling though magazines I have become slightly disturbed by the whole altering idea. Why is it so many altered items have to include strange Victorian children wearing clowns hats? I think it is a case of you either love this style of stamp or you hate it. In my case I don't hate them I find them rather freaky. I am sure I may be able to over come my problem with time, but for now none of my altered stuff is going to contain freaky looking children- it creeps my out!!

I did do something

I did manage to do something!! However, due to the lack of my mini light tent which my sister has borrowed!!!! I will have to do photo's another day. I went to a car boot today and picked up some bargains, again I will have to share another day.

Stuck

It has been a while since I created anything.... I am really struggling to feel motivated. I look around the Internet and see such fantastic ideas, I wish I could come up with something. I am determined that tonight I am going to do something.

Been a while, Owain has become rather more demanding of late and I just have not had the time or the motivation to craft. All card stock is from the basic grey Bittersweet range.

I Can't Wait Mini Album

Sorry I was meant to post this last Friday! The school inspectors have decided to pay my school a visit so as you can imagine I have not had a spare minute.

The backing for the book is an old jigsaw that belonged to my daughter. I was going to end up in the bin but I knew it would take on a different life it it ended up in my craft room.

The pages were covered with paper and the edges inked, a few stamps here and there, and acetate page and a few embellishments and it was finished.

I am taking part in the Spring Fling Event. My designated day is Friday 20th March, even though it say Thursday! Not going to have a chance to do it tomorrow!
I thought I would share with you a card I have made using some hand made wire embellishments.

I threaded some wire through the centre of a button and then crocheted the wire to form the petals.

I crocheted the wire and added the buttons as I went.I simply threaded some buttons onto the wire.

On the front of this mini album I crocheted a flower and placed a hat pin through the center of it and added a few beads.

I will share this album tomorrow.

I am by no means an expert at crocheting and I have found crocheting with wire is very forgiving as you can bend it into the shape you require. I learnt to crochet from the videos I watched on You Tube.

Thank You Card

The pink background is core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock, I sanded the edges to reveal to coordinating colour. The green paper in BASIC GREY two scoops, flowers are PRIMA and I added a bit of sparkle with some Cotton Candy STICKLES. The Thank You sentiment is from Heidi Swapp. Lace is from my local fabric shop.

Tilda with hearts card

Such a cute Tilda! She was coloued using water resistant pencils and Sansodor which is blended with a - not sure what they are called basically it is a cardboard tube which soaks up the Sansodor and the blends the pencils.

Party Tilda hanging card

I used my cricut to cut out the shape of the card<Accnt14s from the Accent Essential cartridge. Cut out some scalloped circles using nestabilities and placed Tilda on top.
