I thought I would share my latest crochet project with you

Having had such interest in this scarf I thought I would add further information for you. I have not been able to remember the wool or the size hook I used. I made the one bellow using Patons Fab Big wool and a 10mm hook. The pattern was changed, I only chained 20 so the width was 10" and the length was 37". It was so quick to make! I hope you like it!

It was in fact a bit shorter than the pattern but I used thicker wool (I think). I am rather new to crochet so I might have gone wrong but I did try to follow the pattern. Really glad you like it.

I would love details on your version as well. What type yarn, 1 strand or 2 held together, size needle. It is absolutely beautiful. It would make a great Christmas present for my sister and friends. :o)
Hi all I am glad you love it. As for the yarn and the size hook used I will have to get back to you. I will have to go to the shop where I got the yearn from to let you know and experiment with the hook size. Hopefully going to the shop tomorrow!!!

if so, how do you do the 3 row? It leaves big gaps and isn't so tight as in the picture...
@anonymous-I'm a fairly beginner crocheted when it comes to reading patterns, but I looked at the pattern on ravelry. On the second row you should DC in the first 2 stitches, which should be DC, then DC in the chain 1 space from row 1 when you skipped a chain. Then DC in each DC and chain 1 from row 1. Then in row 3 you will be alternately stitching in the front post, then back post. Front post, back post. All the way to the end then DC, chain 2, and turn. Row 4 is worked the same but starts with DC in th back post. Hope that's right and helps!

I have a question for this pattern. I've started, I also chained 20 (I'm using a bulky yarn and large hook). I chained 20, then DC in second chain from hook. I'm assuming then I'll have 19 stitches across for the entire project. That means I start with a FPDC and finish with a FPDC, therefore the 4th row is supposed to be a BPDC but it wouldn't make the lattice effect. Am I missing something? It's just not adding up.

Im with Anonymous from Dec 5th.. I chained the 20 at first and now at row 3 and 4 am not getting a lattice, but instead just rows of BPDC and FPDC. Is it correct to just switch the pattern to make it lattice bec of the original chain 20 or did I do something wrong?
I made this and I love the way it turned out. I followed the pattern to the T and I agree, it's not a lattice. I still love the way it turned out!! And my friend that I'm giving it to is going to love it!!
After looking at the first picture really close, it looks like the first row was double crochet, chain one, and the second and remaining rows were worked as a double crochet in the open chain and chain one until desired length. I made mine in black with silver buttons and like I said, I love the way it turned out!!

I am re-learning crochet after 25 years of doing none, so I'm very rusty. Can anyone tell me whether the Ravelry pattern directions have those square button holes along the edging? I'm not reading it right, I think. Thank you!

I found picture of scarf that I really like but I had no idea how to make it. I tried so many stiches to make it work. I hope anyone can help me :)
I've just finished making this scarf for my daughter, I doubled the yarn ro make it chunkier but used the same number of stitches in my starting chain as I wanted it to cover her shoulders. It ended up being quite a bit longer to fit properly, but it's beautiful! Oh btw it is a double crochet lattice, it's easy to do and the effect is lovely!

I made one yesterday :) it was really easy and turned out pretty. I used wool ease thick and quick and size 10mm hook. I think I chained 23 and then double crocheted into the chain 21 and then chained one and skipped a chain and the next DC into the chain 19 and so on so that it would end with a DC in the very first chain of the starting chain. Then chained 2 and turned and did front post and back post dc's across then chain 2 and turn and then where the previous row's front post dc looks like a back post dc do a front post dc and likewise in the back posts, that creates the lattice effect. Wish I could post a picture but there doesn't seem to be an option. Thanks for posting such a beautiful scarf! Great inspiration from the original pattern :)
Correction: on row 2 I followed the pattern with chain two, turn and then dc in each dc and chain one space all the way across before row 3 starting the front and back post dc's.

I know this pattern was posed a while ago and I apologize for asking now but I'm wondering if your fpdc and bpdc lined up and made ridges or if they were out of sync and looked more like lattice work? I can't tell from your picture? I'm making this for a secret Santa gift this year.
