Lined Crochet Neck Warmer

I crocheted this neck warmer only to discover it made me itch when I put it on, so I lined it with fabric to solve the problem.

Vintage Embroidery

I know that two posts in one day are unheard of but I just had to share this happy coincidence. I bought this just before Christmas at a charity shop and then I discovered someone else had found one too. It can be found on Jane's fantastic blog here

Crochet Bobble Stitch Cushions

I wanted to learn a new crochet stitch so I found this fantastic tutorial on how to do bobble stitch

I needed to cover some cushions that I had on the sofa because since changing our furniture they were blending into the background. I followed the instructions in the video so it would fit. I was very pleased how they turned out.

Scallop Square Die from Stampin' Up!

I made this rag quilt a while ago and I thought I would share it with you. I can't say it was quick to make because it would be a rather big fib. However, the process was made easier because I cut out all the fabric using the  Scallop Square Die from Stampin' Up!. I was able to cut out five square at a time. The fabric I used was perfect for fraying at the edges to give the rag effect but... it took three washes and several hours in the tumble dryer to get rid of the bits, the house was covered for weeks!

Another Neck warmer

I did not follow a pattern to make this neck warmer. I half double crocheted (I am working in US notation so I think it is double crochet in UK) until the scarf measured 25" x 6.5". I then 4 x HDC in every other stitch all the way round the scarf, slip stitching into the stitch in between to give the scarf a frilly edge.

Lattice Crochet Neck Warmer

I thought I would share my latest crochet project with you

The pattern I used can be found here
Having had such interest in this scarf I thought I would add further information for you. I have not been able to remember the wool or the size hook I used. I made the one bellow using Patons Fab Big wool and a 10mm hook. The pattern was changed, I only chained 20 so the width was 10" and the length was 37". It was so quick to make! I hope you like it!

Mini Flower Tutorial

I have been designing a scrapbook page that I will be making for a class and I came up with these cute little flowers as an embellishment. I thought I would share with you how I made them.

Using the dotted scallop ribbon border punch out a strip
Ink up edges if you wish
Screw up and manipulate the card stock to break up the fibres.

Carefully tease apart the card stock so you will end up with two strips

Roll up one of the strips and stick the end

Squash the rolled up card stock
Add a jewel to the centre

Stampin' Up! Wedding Table decorations

So this is the next bit of my wedding craft extravaganza. This whole process started just after Christmas and continued for a full three months. When I came up with this idea for our table centre decorations I was not really aware what I had let myself in for and towards the end of punching out 4000 Stampin' Up! fancy flower punches I was convinced I had given myself RSI. Well all is well now and my hand needed a bit of a rest before the next process started and that was constructing the flowers. I did this video can be seen here 1000 times in order to make enough for 10 table decorations.
The photos below show just some of the flowers that were made ready for the next stage

If you would like to see the finished product come back tomorrow!!!!

So here follows photos of the next stage

Paper Wedding Cake Part Two

I have had the professional wedding photographs back for a while now and I have been meaning to share them with you sooner but we are having a extension built so I have been up to my knees in dust and house reorganisation. The photos of the cake in the last post were taken from  friends that had shared them on the internet so it does mean you are not able to click on the photo for a better look. These ones you will be able to.

The shot below is taken from the top of the cake
